B-100 Complex SR: Once thought to be a single vitamin called Vitamin B, several chemically distinct nutrients make up a Vitamin B-Complex including Thiamine (Vitamin B-1), Riboflavin (Vitamin B-2), Niacin or Niacinamide (Vitamin B-3), Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B-5), Pyridoxine (Vitamin B-6), Biotin (Vitamin B-7), Folic Acid (Vitamin B-9) and Cobalamin (Vitamin B-12).
The B-Complex vitamins are water-soluble nutrients that are dispersed throughout the body and play important roles in cell metabolism and essential for a number of health benefits including the rate of metabolism, cell growth and development including the production of red blood cells, healthy skin and muscle tone, the proper function of the nervous system and a strong immune system.
Although not true B vitamins, B-100 Complex SR also provides 100 milligrams per tablet each of Choline, Inositol and PABA (para-aminobenzoic acid) which play important roles in cognition, liver function, fetal brain development and are thought to help promote healthy skin and hair. Because the B vitamins are water-soluble, any excessive intake is excreted in the urine as opposed to being stored by the body. As a result, they must be replenished in the body on a regular basis or a risk of Vitamin B deficiency develops.
B-100 Complex SR provides a complete high potency regimen of all of the individual B vitamins in a Sustained Release tablet that allows the body to have a longer period of time during which it can absorb these critical nutrients.

B Complex vitamins are notorious for their awful aftertaste. I was hoping that since these are marketed as “coated” they would actually be coated (like the way an Advil is coated) and be more palatable . As soon as I opened the bottle and the smell hit my face, I knew that I had been tricked. As far as I’m concerned, they are NOT coated and leave the same terrible aftertaste as the ones I was hoping to replace.

These B’s gave me instant energy. After having my afternoon lunch, I needed a pick up and this worked well. The pills are fairly large but went down just fine. When I compared it to another B-100 product we have, I’d have to say this made more of an impact. B vitamins are smelly and make me gag, so I had been very happy using the NOW Co-Enzyme B-Complex with enteric coating, until they were recently discontinued. The AF B-100 Complex is listed here on Amazon as “Coated”, but the product’s label does not mention coating at all, enteric or otherwise. As soon as I opened the container, the smell told me these were just like the other B-Complex products. Other reviews mention “coating”, I suppose we must mean different things. The vitamins themselves are probably fine, but not what I was expecting.

I take one of these in the morning. It really has helped give me a little more pep in my step in the mornings. It also helps curb my appetite. I’ve been taking these for about a week now and have lost two pounds. I have also been watching what I eat and getting my steps in. I did receive a discount on this item for my honest review. I will be getting more when my bottle starts to get low.

“Must have B vitamins in it as described since I get the nausea with throat/mouth lockup weird feeling for about 30 seconds 30 minutes after I take one (multivitamins with B vitamins do the same thing to me). Once that sensation goes away I start to feel more alert.

I’m not one to really take vitamins or supplements, but I decided to try this because I’ve heard vitamin B helps with hangovers. I’ve been taking it every day for the a little more than a week and I haven’t really noticed a boost in energy, but I’m a morning person and rarely lack energy in the morning anyway, I might try it in the afternoon one day to see if I notice anything. As far as hangovers go I think it did help a bit after a late Saturday night.
The pills are pretty big, but the coating and shape make them go down pretty easy, just keep that in mind if you have issues with larger pills. I received this product at a discount for my fair and honest review.
